Regional Property & Casualty Insurance carrier has an immediate need for a Financial Analyst in their Accounting & Finance Department. Position will be responsible for providing technical-level expertise in: internal control policy design, budgeting, planning, and forecasting. Position reports directly to Controller and will periodically work with Internal Audit and Regulatory Insurance Departments.
Requirements
- Create, document, and maintain a central system for all corporate financial reporting/internal control mechanisms
- Recommend alternative internal control structures designed to meet compliance with NAIC – Model Audit Rule
- Select technology solution to store previously mentioned controls and policies
- Lead and monitor profitability improvements; think “outside the box” to redesign and realign profitability analysis
- Assist in annual budget preparation; analyze financial reports to maintain expense control
- Prepare multi-year forecasts and models to evaluate potential outcomes of current business decisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting, Finance, Mathematics)
- CPA is preferred; client will consider candidates without CPA that are eligible to sit for exam
- 3+ years of experience working with operational and internal financial controls

In this role, you will handle Pennsylvania-based workers compensation claims. Your duties will include:
- Review reserve limits and make recommendations for improvement
- Coordinate all treatment and rehabilitation services
- Manage investigation, legal and all other professionals that assist in the examination and handling of the claim
- Review files for quality assurance
- Professional representation of the organization during special events, conferences, meetings or speaking engagements
To be qualified, you should have:
- 4+ years of work comp claim handling experience
- 2+ years of experience handling claims for the state of Pennsylvania
- Strong communication and computer skills
