In this role, you will handle Pennsylvania-based workers compensation claims.  Your duties will include:

• Review reserve limits and make recommendations for improvement
• Coordinate all treatment and rehabilitation services
• Manage investigation, legal and all other professionals that assist in the examination and handling of the claim
• Review files for quality assurance
• Professional representation of the organization during special events, conferences, meetings or speaking engagements

To be qualified, you should have:

• 4+ years of work comp claim handling experience
• 2+ years of experience handling claims for the state of Pennsylvania
• Strong communication and computer skills

In this role, you will:

• Apply experience and technical underwriting expertise to various assignments to support the companys profit and growth objectives
• Collaborate with the Staff Underwriting Managers, members of other Corporate Staff Departments, as well as individuals from Operations to ensure all relevant information is understood to support recommended actions
• Handle referral requests in support of the Division Underwriting Managers
• Ensure proper underwriting guidelines are followed

To be qualified, you should have:

• 10+ years of Underwriting experience with large Commercial Property risks; 5+ years of experience with Highly Protected Risks (HPR)
• Knowledge of underwriting practices, trends in the insurance marketplace, and competition
• Bachelor’s Degree
• CPCU designation is preferred
• Solid analytical, communication, problem solving and decision making skills

Main Responsibilities:

•    Provide leadership and direction to agency business and personnel.

•    Direct the identification, contact, soliciting, selling, and servicing to prospects.

•    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

•    Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications we’re looking for:

•    Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; an advanced degree and/or insurance industry degree and/or insurance industry professional designations (e.g. CPCU, CLU, ARM) are a plus.

•    Minimum of 10 years insurance industry experience, five years spent in a commercial insurance sales capacity with a direct writer of commercial insurance or with an agency.

•    Two years sales management experience is also required.

•    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance contracts, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

•    Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

•    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and senior management.

•    Knowledge of databases and PC’s, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Travel Requirements:  20-30%

The position pays $75,000 – $80,000 with relocation assistance available.
